For California native Christina Fontana, sourcing merchandise for Alibaba’s digital platforms is a dream gig where living between two cultures (her father's Roman) and two languages is terribly advantageous. Based out of the e-commerce giant's Milan offices a few steps from Il Duomo, Fontana and her multinational team stock and manage a virtual showplace — called the Tmall Luxury Pavilion — of luxury goods from Italy and across Europe that epitomize the “made in Italy” brand.
