Mirio Cosottini

An award-winning multi-instrumentalist and composer, Mirio graduated from the Academy of Music in Florence and earned his degree in Philosophy from the University of Florence. He is a founding member of Timet, a 10-year collaboration that led to his contribution as a performer and composer on several of the group’s highly original works. He has toured extensively within Europe and the United States with Timet and other notable artists. Through his workshops and publications, Mirio continues to delver further into composition, musical analysis and improvisation especially in the field of dance. In 2005 he co-founded EASilence, the group with whom he currently tours that features a diverse lineup of rotating guest musicians. Mirio also teaches improvisation at the Conservatory of Padova.
