Gia Amella

As managing partner, Gia oversees all areas of production as well as sales. A Chicago native raised in Northern California, she has written, produced and directed award-winning programs for network and public television that have aired on A&E, National Geographic International, Investigation Discovery, The Weather Channel, PBS and others. She holds an M.A. in Radio-Television from San Francisco State University, where she served as a lecturer in the Broadcast and Electronic Communications Department, and a B.A. in Italian Literature from the University of California, Santa Cruz. She has been awarded grants from the Illinois Humanities Council, California Council for the Humanities, and the National Italian American Foundation, among others, and has been a frequent guest speaker nationwide on topics related to her independent media work. A former Fulbright Fellow to Palermo, Italy, Gia was the recipient of the 2007 Impresa Award from the Joint Civic Committee of Italian Americans: Women’s Division for outstanding contributions to her field.
